Description

In this unit students will be exposed to advanced skills specific to their performances through focused studies. Students will work towards the acquisition of specialised skills in a workshop and masterclass environment. Each student will also apply their individual programme of study that extends the depth and breadth of their studies. The acquisition and utilisation of leadership skills will also begin to be a focus.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Implement advanced music skills in a variety of musical settings.
  2. Perform in different musical environments.
  3. Show acceptable progress in their performance skills.
  4. Show awareness of the importance of leadership skills in a variety of musical settings.
  5. Understand the context of their performance skills in different musical environments.

Unit Content

  1. Music interpretational skills
  2. Project organisation and collaborative learning methods
  3. Rehearsal, practice and performance techniques
  4. Repertoire sourced from diverse international sources

Learning Experience

Students will attend on campus classes as well as engage in learning activities through ECU Blackboard.
