Description

In this unit students will learn approaches to integrating electronics into performance, which will involve the study of the Arduino programming language and microcontroller boards, circuit bending, and the construction of analog filters and pre-amps. The unit covers a range of applied fields, including interactive composition, interactive installation, motorised instruments and robotics.

Prerequisite Rule

Students must pass 1 units from MUS2616

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Apply basic electronics knowledge.
  2. Demonstrate skills in Arduino, circuit bending and building electronic devices.
  3. Demonstrate skills in advanced programming.

Unit Content

  1. An introduction to electronics.
  2. Creation of original music for specific media.
  3. Performance presentation from a practical and critical perspective.
  4. Rehearsal conventions and instrumental roles.
