Description

This unit is designed to allow students to undertake professional practice or a practical special topic in an area relevant to the students specialisation. The opportunity will be available either internally or through industry partners. The choice of project is subject to the applicant's suitability to the activity selected and the approval of the music postgraduate committee.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate awareness of current professional practices, as required.
  2. Demonstrate understanding of the skills and knowledge required to work professionally in the chosen area of specialisation; and,
  3. Explore and reflect upon relevant theoretical and vocational issues.

Unit Content

  1. Completing the vocational experience.
  2. Planning a professional practice experience.
  3. Professional etiquette and workplace expectations.
  4. Reporting processes.

Professional experience, supervision and workshops.
