Nursing Practice 3 is the third work integrated learning unit in a series of six clinical practice units. Building on previous studies, students will further develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills required for safe practice as a beginning level registered nurse. Students will provide basic nursing care to patients in a health care setting evidenced by successful completion of 4 weeks of clinical practice in accordance with practice standards for stage three nursing students set by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Students must pass 2 units from NPP1201 or NPU1202 and NSC1103 or NUM1203
Only students studying courses C33, Y61 or Y76 can enrol in this unit.
Students must study NUM2306 concurrently with NPU2303

On completion of this unit students should be able to:
Online learning activities (18 hours), simulation workshops (18 hours) and clinical practicum (160 hours).

Students please note: The marks and grades received by students on assessments may be subject to further moderation. All marks and grades are to be considered provisional until endorsed by the relevant Board of Examiners.
Due to the professional competency skill development associated with this Unit, student attendance/participation within listed in-class activities and/or online activities including discussion boards is compulsory. Students failing to meet participation standards as outlined in the unit plan may be awarded an I Grade (Fail - incomplete). Students who are unable to meet this requirement for medical or other reasons must seek the approval of the unit coordinator.
