Description

This unit provides an overview of seminal evidence for knowledge translation in the context of neurological rehabilitation. The challenges of translating existing evidence into clinical practice will be reviewed, along with current evidence-practice gaps in the field of neurological rehabilitation. An introduction to models, strategies, tools and skills that facilitate knowledge translation and improve clinical practice in the field will be presented.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Apply translation science definitions, principles, frameworks and models to neurological rehabilitation settings.
  2. Investigate evidence-practice gaps and identify barriers to implementation of evidence-based practice within neurological rehabilitation.
  3. Apply appropriate methodology for the measurement of current clinical practice.
  4. Formulate appropriate knowledge translation goals and outcomes measures to improve clinical rehabilitation practice.
