This unit is dedicated to the implementation and reporting of a defined nutrition/dietetics research project. Consideration of the research-practice continuum forms part of the project's dissemination phase.
Students must have passed NUT6100.

On completion of this unit students should be able to:
Students will undertake, and be assessed on, authentic activities through engagement with industry and community partners.
Students undertake an activity in collaboration or consultation with an industry partner but do not spend any time or only a very small amount of time (e.g. 1-2 short visits) in an actual workplace.
Students will work to develop a nutrition and dietetics research project using data from a real research project. The unit supports students with development of research skills, data analysis, self-management and organisation skills through learning activities, research project development and assessment. Students will work in small teams with particular datasets and will develop their own independent research project within this. Online learning opportunities are incorporated into this unit and Microsoft Teams will be used for project management. Data will be analysed using SPSS software.

Due to the professional competency skill development associated with this Unit, student attendance/participation within listed in-class activities and/or online activities including discussion boards is compulsory. Students failing to meet participation standards as outlined in the unit information may be awarded an I Grade (Fail - incomplete). Students who are unable to meet this requirement for medical or other reasons must seek the approval of the unit coordinator.

Organising a friend, a family member, another student or an external person or organisation (e.g. through an online website) to complete or substantially edit or refine part or all of an assessment task(s) on their behalf.
Using or having access to unauthorised materials in an exam or test.
Serious outcomes may be imposed if a student is found to have committed one of these breaches, up to and including expulsion from the University for repeated or serious acts.
