Description

Students will demonstrate the skills required to manage any occupational health and safety risk, assess a workplace, understand the variety and capability of several incident investigation processes, and, formulate priorities and devise practical solutions to enhance occupational health and safety.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Analyse complex risk management strategies to ensure effective risk management in the workplace.
  2. Apply a risk management framework to decrease the risk of incidents and injuries in the workplace.
  3. Analyse the strengths and weaknesses of incident causation models to assist the prevention of future workplace incidents.
  4. Develop an occupational health and safety risk management report for a specific industry or workplace detailing improvement recommendations.
  5. Demonstrate a command of academic skills which include writing, referencing and researching at a postgraduate level.
