This unit is designed to extend the student's understanding of the principles of outcomes based planning, teaching, learning and monitoring student achievement in health education, and in the broader context of the Health and Physical Education (HPE) learning area.
Both on-campus and residency mode of delivery are available. Selected Pre-service Teachers may complete some aspects of the unit within the residency schools as part of the residency mode.
On completion of this unit students should be able to:

This unit extends students' understanding of the principles of best practice for outcomes based teaching and learning in Health Education and in the broader context of the HPE learning area. Emphasis will be placed on monitoring and assessment in Health Education and designing assessment tasks to promote engagement and achievement; student awareness of key content areas in Health Education; and Senior Schooling in WA with specific attention to the courses for Health Studies.
