This unit will explore the principles of assessment and management of clients by Paramedics. Using a problem-solving approach, students will develop competencies in caring for and managing clients in a number of Paramedic clinical (practicum) settings.
Students will undertake a clinical practicum during the hours laid down by their host clinical agency. These may occur at times outside the identified semester weeks or normal business hours.

Students will attend on campus classes as well as engage in learning activities through ECU Blackboard.

Students will engage in learning experiences through ECU Blackboard as well as additional ECU learning technologies.
Online workshops, tutorials, a minimum of 80 hours of clinical placement and simulation practice. Off-campus students: The unit can be studied entirely online/off-campus if suitable arrangements can be made to complete the practical components of the course. If a clinical placement cannot be secured in your location you will be required to attend the Joondalup campus to complete intensive workshops to ensure that the learning outcomes for the unit can be achieved.
