This unit builds on the skills acquired in SBL4520 Professional Practice, a prerequisite to this unit. It will require students to engage in career self-management through considering their strengths and weaknesses and development pathways for professional success. Students will reflect on networking capabilities and the professional contacts they have established and how these may enhance their career goals. They will produce a professional practice portfolio which articulates and promotes their personal brand.
Students must have completed SBL4510 and SBL4520
On completion of this unit students should be able to:
Student learning will be directed by the Unit Coordinator/Lecturer and there will be ongoing liaison between the Unit Coordinator/Lecturer and student to ensure effective performance during the professional practice period. Students will need to maintain regular email contact and attend meetings with the Unit Coordinator/Lecturer as required. Students will be required to participate in on-campus sessions where they will engage with their Unit Coordinator/Lecturer and other participants on the Professional Practice program They may also be required to engage in independent and peer-based online tasks and activities.

Copying the words, ideas or creative works of other people, without referencing in accordance with stated University requirements. Students need to seek approval from the Unit Coordinator within the first week of study if they intend to use some of their previous work in an assessment task (self-plagiarism).
Working with other students and submitting the same or substantially similar work or portions of work when an individual submission was required. This includes students knowingly providing others with copies of their own work to use in the same or similar assessment task(s).
Organising a friend, a family member, another student or an external person or organisation (e.g. through an online website) to complete or substantially edit or refine part or all of an assessment task(s) on their behalf.
Using or having access to unauthorised materials in an exam or test.
Serious outcomes may be imposed if a student is found to have committed one of these breaches, up to and including expulsion from the University for repeated or serious acts.
