This unit examines the role of environmental impact assessment as part of an environmental decision making process in land using planning, resource management and development projects. The legislative basis for environmental impact assessment and administrative and technical procedures are investigated.Experience is gained in the conductof environmental impact assessment. This unit aims to provide students with the theoretical knowledge andskills needed to be an effective member of an environmental assessment project team.
On completion of this unit students should be able to:
Lecture material is provided in an on-line environment and students are encouraged to search and review all information resources available to them. Some assessments make use of shared information in th eon-line environment.
