Description

In this unit, students will finalise their research proposal and commence the proposed research study.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Communicate the aim and research methodology required to undertake the research.
  2. Formulate appropriate responses to feedback.
  3. Apply ethics and risk assessment procedures when conducting research.
  4. Apply self-management skills to plan and execute the proposed research study.
  5. Analyse and critically assess the preliminary results.

Unit Content

  1. Presentation of research preparation.
  2. Preparation of a response to reviewers' comments on the research proposal, for final approval.
  3. Finalisation of the research proposal, with approved ethics and risk assessment plan.
  4. Planning of research milestones and tasks.
  5. Commencement of research.

Learning Experience

Students will attend on campus classes as well as engage in learning activities through ECU Blackboard.

Additional Learning Experience Information

Under the supervision of the supervisors, the student will revise their research proposal in response to reviewers’ comments for final approval by the School. In addition, with their supervisors, the student will commence their research, analyse and evaluate the results, prepare and submit the progress report.
