Description

This unit involves the pre-production, production and post-production of a screen project which involves negotiating with a client and developing a corporate video, television commercial or music video and a range of other works. Working in teams, students take on the role of producer, writer, director, editor, cinematographer or sound recordist. Students will learn to appreciate, review and evaluate the art and craft of a range of production works and apply their skills as members of the production teams.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Work as a member of a production team to complete a quality screen project.
  2. Work effectively with a professional client using industry-standard schedules, budgets and production parameters.
  3. Demonstrate the skills appropriate to the production role undertaken.
  4. Demonstrate the discipline, commitment and interpersonal skills necessary to work as a member of a production team.
  5. Generate and maintain the documentation required for the production.

Learning Experience

Students will attend on campus classes as well as engage in learning activities through ECU Blackboard.
