This unit develops the theoretical background necessary for planning productions of various types for the screen. Skills include research, concept development, budgeting, scheduling and documentation using industry models. Students will become familiar with various formats and genres of screen production and develop an understanding of the processes required to plan productions, deal with potential clients and to prepare the appropriate documents.
On completion of this unit students should be able to:

This unit develops a range of skills necessary for planning productions of various types for the screen. These skills include research, concept development, budgeting, scheduling and documentation using industry models. Students will develop an understanding and appreciation of each crew role in screen productions and the legal and safety issues associated with the screen industries. Students will work in teams to plan and produce projects, deal with potential clients and prepare appropriate documents.
