Description

This unit enables students to explore and develop both theoretical research and practical experience in their field of audio-visual practice or screen studies theory.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Develop the general skills of research, academic writing and presentation of projects to an audience.
  2. Apply critical and/or practical skills in response to a theoretical question or practice challenge in their chosen fields.
  3. Operate independently to a deadline, producing work of a significant quality.
  4. Produce a written self-evaluation and/or exegesis on the processes explored and outcomes achieved in their specific field of enquiry or practice.

Unit Content

  1. Detailed program of work, including objectives, content, research plan, deadlines, and evaluation procedures.
  2. Preparation and presentation of a detailed essay/report.
  3. Production of a substantial project.
  4. Practical experience in the chosen area.

Learning Experience

Students will attend on campus classes as well as engage in learning activities through ECU Blackboard.
