This unit involves the identification of an appropriate research project, the development of a proposal and the acquisition of the intellectual and practical skills required to undertake the project.
On completion of this unit students should be able to:
Initially the unit will be based on consultations between the student, the unit coordinator and potential supervisors. Following selection of a supervisor and topic of interest the student will consult with the supervisor regarding relevant literature, identification of the project, development of the proposal, presentation of the research seminar and the identification of special intellectual and practical skills that the student will require. The student will also maintain contact with the unit coordinator.
