Description

Students conduct a research project on a specific relevant theme in this unit. Data gathering, community/industry engagement and meetings with the project supervisor form the foundation of the study that culminates in the production of a traditional scientific report. The project will provide students with the opportunity to experience the process of scholarly research.

Prerequisite Rule

Students must pass 1 units from RPS3110

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Define clear research aims and objectives.
  2. Employ appropriate techniques for the analysis, interpretation, evaluation and reflection of data.
  3. Plan and devise appropriate methodology and method for data collection.
  4. Produce a rigorous traditional scientific report.
  5. Review and evaluate contextual and theoretical material.
  6. Select and formulate an appropriate research investigation.
