This unit examines community health and well-being from a socio-ecological perspective with a focus on Australia's rural and remote health. It will explore the major theoretical approaches to health and well-being, including social determinants of health, individual responsibility, and critical perspectives. The unit will also examine the various responses that can be undertaken by social workers working in the area of community and public health.
On completion of this unit students should be able to:
Students will engage in learning experiences through ECU Blackboard as well as additional ECU learning technologies.
Readings, online learning activities, lectures and tutorials, and audiovisual resources.
