Description

This unit introduces a broad range of drawing materials and techniques for design communication. Students will communicate ideas on paper and render designs that allow manufacturers to meet specifications. Students learn accurate drawing for the creation of spaces and objects.

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Communicate design ideas and concepts using a variety of drawing media.
  2. Construct scale working drawings of objects and environments.
  3. Create 3D perspective drawings to professional design standards.
  4. Present written summaries of technical presentations.
  5. Assess and create drawings appropriate to spatial design requirements.
  6. Discuss different styles, media and techniques used in drawing for spatial design.

  2. Object and spatial perspective drawing.
  3. Colour rendering techniques.
  4. Technical drawings for fabrication.
  5. Design Presentation techniques.
  6. Selection of drawing types.
