Description

This unit teaches students learning theories, skills and strategies to enable effective communication and interaction with people in a variety of learning environments and contexts. Through independent and collaborative learning techniques students develop strategies to organise learning, and how to develop proficiency in ICT skills with systems and applications. Students will attain practical skills in study techniques, professional written communication, preparing effective oral presentations, career planning and reflective writing.

Co-Requisite Rule

Must be enrolled in course type 23, 30

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Use appropriate learning strategies to organise and manage learning in an academic environment.
  2. Use professional communication and teamwork skills for effective participation in small interactive group learning activities.
  3. Deliver an effective oral presentation demonstrating effective use of technology and reflective practice.
