Description

This unit provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to submit applications, tenders and proposals for the delivery of research, educational or other services.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Analyse a call for application, submission or tender document.
  2. Complete an application, submission and tender that fulfils all requirements.
  3. Demonstrate the organisational skills necessary to successfully complete the submission of an application, submission or tender.
  4. Evaluate a document written in reply to a call for submission or tender.
  5. Identify appropriate information and competently address selection criteria.
  6. Produce a budget for submission purposes and for monitoring expenditure.

Unit Content

  1. Analysis of, and written response to, calls for applications, submissions and tenders.
  2. Developing project management tools as part of a submission.
  3. Organisational skills for completing competitive applications in a variety of formats.
  4. Tender evaluation and post tender negotiations.
  5. The context of applications, submissions and tenders in todays market.
  6. Writing capability statements, letters of intent and replies to selection criteria.

The content of the unit is presented in written materials designed to develop the specific skills for competitive submissions. Work-based learning assessments and exercises. Student-centred experience informs all written work. Flexible models for practising new skills.
