This post-ATAR major advances students in the French language. French is widely spoken throughout the European Union, Switzerland, Canada, Africa and around the world. It is one of the most important languages in the fields of art, aviation, business, communications, dance, diplomacy, high fashion, innovative industries, journalism, literature, music, international politics, sport and tourism.

All students are required to have WACE 3A/3B, or equivalent language skills in French. Native speakers of French who have completed their compulsory education in France and/or in a French educational institution overseas (i.e. six years at primary and three years at junior high school) are not eligible to enrol in this major.
