  4. Demonstrate broad and coherent knowledge of chemical engineering theory, technical application and research methods relevant to chemical engineering.
  5. Demonstrate broad and coherent knowledge of reaction systems and the design of reactor configurations to achieve optimal flow, mixing, heat and mass transfer.
  6. Demonstrate broad and coherent knowledge of the principles of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics and their application to chemical processing.
  7. Demonstrate broad and coherent of process systems engineering and systems design.
  8. Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for own learning and demonstrate the ability to work in collaboration with technologists, engineers, other professionals, and the wider community.
  9. Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively to solve chemical engineering problems.
  10. Demonstrate the requisite levels of technology, information and numeric literacy as well as technical skills to perform effectively as chemical engineering professional.
  11. Identify sustainability issues and principles that are applicable to chemical engineering and the wider community and integrate them into engineering solutions.
  12. Incorporate an awareness of cross-cultural and indigenous issues in the conduct of professional practice in the chemical engineering profession.
  13. Understand and interpret international developments and global best practices in chemical engineering.
  14. Utilise technical skills to review, analyse, consolidate and apply knowledge to identify and provide solutions to chemical engineering problems.

Related Careers

chemical operator, process engineer, process safety officer, laboratory technician with employment opportunities in many sectors, including industry, government, universities, research centres and consulting firms.

Employment Opportunities

When students from this unit set graduate from the Bachelor of Technology (Engineering), they are expected to have gained an understanding of heat and mass transfer, chemical thermodynamics, chemical reactors and general engineering concepts, which can help them contribute to problems in the chemical industry.
