Accounting Major

This major provides students with a strong foundation in accounting theory and principles as well as practical skills in accounting and related areas. It also develops students' capacity for inquiry, abstract logical thinking and critical analysis, as well as communication and interpersonal skills that will enable them to work in various collaborative contexts with accountants and non-accountants. This major meets professional accreditations with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, CPA Australia (CPAA) and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).

  2. Access, analyse and critically evaluate relevant information to solve challenging accounting problems systematically.
  3. Communicate accounting knowledge, concepts and advice persuasively and clearly in both written and oral formats, using relevant technology.
  4. Collaborate effectively in team settings to produce measurable outcomes.
  5. Generate creative ideas for business innovations that respond to opportunities and constant change.
  6. Reflect on feedback and critique one's own performance in order to identify and plan opportunities for development.
