Environmental management is concerned with the management of how human societies interact with, and impact, the environment. With growing populations, environmental management is becoming increasingly important. This major focuses on the multidisciplinary nature of environmental management, equipping students with knowledge and skills across scientific, economic, legal and societal domains. Students gain a grounding in the biological and physical aspects of the environment, and the knowledge and skills used in its management, including sustainable management of natural and rehabilitated areas and urban landscapes.

The strong management focus of this course prepares graduates for careers in government agencies and industries which deal with conservation of biodiversity, environmental impact assessment and management of activities, environmental planning and the management and rehabilitation of specific ecosystems.
