This major provides students with foundational knowledge suitable for employment in public health and health promotion roles. Nutrition is an area which provides practical science-based knowledge which complements many other disciplines and which offers valuable personal development for the individual. Students undertaking this major should undertake a second major in Health Promotion, Addiction Studies or Occupational Safety and Health (OS&H). This major is not suitable for students who wish to be eligible for entry into postgraduate courses in Dietetics. These students should enrol in the specialised Nutrition Bioscience major, which includes additional units in chemistry and human biology.
