This major equips students with the skills and knowledge to teach Years 7 to 12 mathematics. Emphasis is given to inquiry-based tasks, co-operative group work and whole class discussions, to ensure effective learning and teaching practices in secondary mathematics.

All students are required to have WACE General Mathematics 3A/3B, with equivalents considered. It is desirable that all students have WACE Mathematics 3C/3D or Mathematics: Specialist 3A/3B, with equivalents considered.

Graduates will be eligible to seek employment in both government and non-government secondary schools.
Students are required to complete 10 Content units and 2 Curriculum units. Content units educate students in the subject area and the Curriculum units explain how to teach the subject area to others.
