This minor offers students specialised skills and knowledge in physical education teaching for Years 7-10. Through lectures and practical sessions, students will study a number of sports, physical activity and chronic disease, and have the option of introductions to either health or outdoor education. Students will also explore methods for effectively teaching this content as well as the issues and challenges facing physical education in schools.

Students are required to complete 4 Content units and 2 Curriculum units. Content units educate students in the subject area and the Curriculum units explain how to teach the subject area to others.

* Students will be assessed to see if they have achieved the ECU minimum standard of English language proficiency in this unit. Students who don't meet the minimum standard will be provided with appropriate English language support and development.
