This minor is offered in conjunction with the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and is designed to equip students with the skills to teach both classroom and instrumental music. Students engage in studies across a variety of musical genres, with emphasis upon developing effective skills for teaching in all styles and effective ensemble direction.

Students are required to complete 60 credit points of Minor Content Study units and 30 credit points of Curriculum Minor units. Content units educate the student in the subject area and the Curriculum units explain how to teach the subject area to others.
