Visual Arts Education Minor

Effective from 01-JAN-2022 : Code MIBION

This minor introduces students to working with oil, acrylic and non-conventional painting media; printmaking through etching, collagraph, monoprinting, drypoint, and relief processes; mould making and casting, welding and soft sculpture; and ceramics fabrication techniques and decorative processes. Units in this minor examine the relationships between art forms, explore art history, and build conceptual skills through studio exercises and set projects. Students also investigate materials and processes used in school art programmes, teaching styles and methodologies, and the changing face of visual arts education in Australia.
