Home Economics Education Years 7 - 10 Specialisation

This specialisation prepares students to take on the challenges of teaching home economics in a range of subject areas across Years 7 to 10. Students receive specialised instruction in both the theory and practical components of units related to nutrition, hospitality, and textiles in preparation for teaching in lower secondary classes. The content covers school curricula, teaching strategies and the development and assessment of teaching programs.

Special Admission Requirements

All applicants are required to complete at least two years (four units) of degree level study with two units at level 2 or above including theoretical studies and practical applications in food preparation, technology and science, as well as hospitality, clothing and textiles and family studies.
