This specialisation is designed for students wishing to become effective secondary mathematics teachers from Years 7 to 12. It covers school curricula, teaching strategies and the development and assessment of teaching programs. Students will be able to plan a variety of mathematics lessons, assessments and activities, with a pedagogical focus on developing an appreciation of mathematics as a useful and creatively interesting area of study.

All applicants are required to complete a major in pure or applied mathematics (three years of degree level study with at least 4 units at level 2 or above) (must include algebra and calculus). One unit only of statistics may be counted provided it is studied as a stand-alone unit.
