Science Education Years 7 - 10 Specialisation

This specialisation is designed for students wishing to teach science in the lower secondary school setting. Science teachers must be knowledgeable in a wide range of sciences including physics, chemistry and biology, particularly at lower secondary school level. The content is closely aligned to the requirements of the Australian Curriculum and the units cover school curricula, teaching strategies and the development and assessment of teaching programs.

Special Admission Requirements

All applicants are required to complete at least two years (four units) at degree level study in science with at least two units at level 2. This may include theoretical units from the disciplines of biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy and earth and environmental science.
