This specialisation provides an opportunity for students to develop their knowledge, understandings and skills to teach English in the primary years. This specialisation highlights the centrality of English to all learning areas and the importance of English in the Australian Curriculum. The specialisation units build on understandings developed in core units and deepen students' knowledge about teaching reading, writing and children's literature in classroom contexts. Where possible, these units provide opportunities for students to develop their capacity as teachers of literacy by working with children in school contexts.
This unit set information may be updated and amended immediately prior to semester. To ensure you have the correct outline, please check it again at the beginning of semester. In particular please check the unit and unit set offerings, as these differ according to course delivery location.
