Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages Specialisation

This specialisation is designed for students wishing to teach Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) in the lower secondary school setting. The units in this specialisation cover school curricula, teaching strategies and the development and assessment of teaching programs. Note: TESOL is available as a minor specialisation only.

Special Admission Requirements

All applicants are required to complete at least two years (four units) of degree level study in linguistics, languages or English studies. A strong academic record in humanities based units and /or experience outside of language/English studies would also be considered.
