Humanities and Social Sciences Specialisation

Effective from 01-JAN-2018 : Code SPAARU

This specialisation provides in-depth studies in the areas of History, Geography, and Civics and Citizenship for those wishing to specialise in this critical and evolving area of the curriculum. The units build on previous learning, further expanding students' knowledge and thinking to do with history and geography, sustainability and values education. Additionally, these units focus on the development of whole school, integrated approaches to HSS, which engage school communities and lead to social action through inquiry. Particular focus is given to developing additional depth of understanding of expert content knowledge, pedagogical content knowledge and highly effective classroom teaching in Humanities and Social Sciences.
