This specialisation within the Master of Technology is designed for students interested in chemical engineering and provides the foundations for a broad range of engineering technologist careers in chemical engineering aligned industries, both in Australia and internationally, or for further studies towards an accredited chemical engineering qualification. This unit set provides graduates with knowledge of how materials and chemicals interact, or can be converted in some way to a more useful form, as part of a processing, production or refining process.
This unit set information may be updated and amended immediately prior to semester. To ensure you have the correct outline, please check it again at the beginning of semester. In particular please check the unit and unit set offerings, as these differ according to course delivery location.

Chemical Engineer, Process Engineer, Petrochemical Engineer, Process Control Engineer, Mineral Processing Engineer, Environmental Engineer
Chemical engineers/technologists work in a wide range of domains from mineral processing, mining, and oil and gas, through to industries associated with clothing, food, packaging, fertilisers, pharmaceuticals and many other manufacturing and biological processes. Many chemical engineers/technologists find career opportunities in the extensive mining, mineral processing, and oil and gas industries that dominate the industrial profile of the state. Chemical engineers/technologists play a central role in both the production, refining and down stream processing in these important resource-based industries.
