Edith Cowan University (ECU) is proud to announce the exciting partnership expansion with the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA).

The ASCA is the leading national organisation for strength and conditioning (S&C) professionals in Australia and operates internationally to develop and accredit high-quality S&C coaches.

The Association serves as the official accrediting body for S&C coaches in Australia as recognised by the Australian Sports Commission and its high-performance division - the Australia Institute of Sport.

ECU has partnered with the ASCA for over 15 years in a commitment to supporting the S&C profession in Australia. Under the outstanding leadership of Senior Executives within ECU’s School of Medical and Health Sciences, the University has elevated its level of support from Conference Partner to Association Partner, which provides a greater investment into ASCA programs and expands ECU's ability to influence the strength and conditioning profession within emerging markets around the world.

School of Medical and Health Science, Professor of Strength and Conditioning, Professor Greg Haff said that the evolution of this partnership is a testimony to ECU's commitment to research, innovation, education and excellence in the S&C industry.

"ECU and the School of Medical and Health Sciences is committed to fostering growth within the Masters of Exercise Science (Strength and Conditioning) course," Professor Haff said.

"The partnership increases opportunities for both organisations to contribute to the further development of the profession within Australia, and worldwide.

"Additionally, as we look to evolve the Masters of Exercise Science (Strength and Conditioning) Course over the coming years this partnership provides us increased opportunity to engage with the ASCA to understand the future of the strength and conditioning profession and better align our course with the evolution of the profession."

ASCA President, Mr Julian Jones said about the announcement, "We are thrilled that Edith Cowan University is expanding their sponsorship of the ASCA by becoming an Association Partner.”

"With a significant number of highly regarded and internationally recognised ASCA coaches having come through the ECU pathway, it shows their commitment to ensuring excellence in the area of higher education for our industry which aligns perfectly with our values and goals. We look forward to what this partnership will bring to our members and sincerely thank ECU for their continued support."

ECU looks forward to the exciting opportunities the elevated partnership with the ASCA will bring to future S&C coaches and the sports science industry.
