Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Regional Futures) and Vice-President at ECU Professor Cobie Rudd said that the WAAPA Live – Busselton 2024 initiative was a priority for the Region ahead of the opening this year of the new Saltwater Busselton state-of-the-art performing arts and convention centre to be located in Busselton's commercial, cultural and foreshore precinct.

"ECU South West and WAAPA are the perfect partners to create community engagement opportunities that extend our educational and training experiences for the gifted and talented kids in the Region, of which there are many," said Professor Rudd.

"This exciting new partnership will bring free workshops in song-writing, physical and music theatre, acting, voice, and movement to our Region's budding stars."

Teachers and parents of gifted performers are being advised not to miss out on what is an incredible opportunity for talented young musicians, actors, dancers and triple-threat performers to gain new skills and insights from WAAPA's acclaimed teaching staff.

There will be limited spots available, so people are being asked to register now through Try Bookings for the free workshops.

WAAPA Live – Busselton 2024 will also bring a free concert to town for all music lovers.

"The 'Flying Solo' free WAAPA Concert on Saturday, April 27th is a great opportunity for the whole family to experience the magic of live music in the heart of Busselton," said Professor Rudd.

"Fresh of a national tour with Eskimo Joe, Music Director, Timothy Nelson, will lead WAAPA's talented emerging artists through an electrifying concert of originals and cover versions of some of favourite songs, quite a treat for the area."
