Globally
The number one university for 2023 was Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, with a score of 79.1. UTS remained the top placed Australian university, ranked 9 globally with a score of 66.4.
Methodology
For the 2023 rankings, universities submitted 2020 student and staff data, so student-to-staff ratio, doctorates awarded, income, and the three international indicators were impacted for the first time by the COVID-19 pandemic. The research outputs and citation data spanned 2017 to 2021 (2022 for citations), and the reputation surveys were held between November 2021 and February 2022.
This ranking uses the same data and indicators as the THE World University Rankings (WUR), with different weightings to acknowledge that young universities have had less time to build their reputation.
