Edith Cowan University (ECU) is thrilled to announce that Asep Badruiamaludin was awarded the Premier's University Scholarship.
In a continuing effort to attract international students to Western Australia, the inaugural Premier's University Scholarship provides successful students with a one-off $50,000 scholarship towards their course fees and other university costs.
The Scholarships are awarded to high-performing international students from each of Western Australia's five universities.
Asep Badruiamaludin is currently a lecturer and researcher at Jenderal Achmad Yani University located in Cimahi, West Java, Indonesia, and will commence his Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing and Midwifery at ECU in 2024.
Asep's area of research centres around patient safety, specifically through effective communication in performing nursing care by health professionals in hospitals.
"Patient safety is really important in the healthcare system and is essential in taking care of patients leading to the best patient outcome," he said.
"My ambition is to apply Salam Introduction Situation Background and Recommendation (SISBAR) as a national standard of communication in Indonesia."
Grateful to be awarded the Premier's University Scholarship, Asep said that the ECU will give him a great journey in study focusing on patient safety.
