He serves as the Working Group Coordinator and the Australian Country Member Representative to the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) Technical Committee 11 (Security and Privacy Protection in Information Processing Systems).
He is also the secretary to IFIP Working Group 11.1 (Information Security Management) and a member of the ACS Cyber Security Committee. In addition, he holds memberships as a Senior Member of the IEEE and as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, the British Computer Society (BCS) and the Australian Information Security Association (AISA).
