A new pathway via TAFE
North Metropolitan TAFE in Western Australia already offers a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.
Now, thanks to a new agreement with Edith Cowan University, diploma graduates have a direct pathway into university.
This pathway is aiming to prepare more highly qualified early childhood educators in Western Australia to meet current and future demand.
Eligible diploma students can enrol in ECU's Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Studies) course with up to 8-unit credits under their belt.
This can reduce the duration of the university study by up to 1 full year.
If you're eligible, you can enrol in a range of ECS units that will challenge your thinking and deepen your understanding of early childhood teaching and practice.
Diploma graduates interested in advancing their studies at ECU will also be able to enrol in a new study unit called 'Wellbeing for Early Childhood Educators and Children'.
Shape the next generation
One of the great things about studying the ECU course is that the university has more than 1000 partnerships with schools and early learning centres right across the state.
So you'll have the chance to do professional pracs in a diverse range of settings, including public and private, metropolitan, regional and remote.
This helps you develop the knowledge and skills you'll need to connect with children, families and communities in ways that promote children's quality learning and development.
Imagine having a career with the opportunity to shape the next generation?
