Not all business schools offer the same quality of education - but how can you tell which ones will teach you everything you need and help make you attractive to employers once you've finished?
External rankings can help give you an idea.
The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), for example, is an international not-for-profit organisation which only offers its accreditation to business schools which meet the highest standards of teaching, research and professionalism.
Its standards are so high, it has awarded accreditation to less than 6 per cent of business schools in the world - and Edith Cowan University's School of Business and Law is one of them.
This means business and law students at ECU enjoy the benefits of internationally acknowledged teaching, research and industry engagement.
The connection to industry means you'll get to learn on the job and put what you've learned into practice, while spending time in modern workplaces and forging valuable relationships — all before you graduate.
Once you've completed your studies, ECU School of Business and Law's AACSB accreditation lets employers know you are job ready from the day you earn your degree.
AACSB Executive Vice President and Chief Accreditation Officer Stephanie Bryant said ECU deserved accreditation due to its dedication to its students, but also to its alumni network, greater business community and the higher education industry as a whole.
"Today's students are tomorrow's business leaders and the addition of ECU's School of Business and Law to the network of AACSB-accredited business schools will have a lasting positive impact for their institution, both locally and globally," Ms Bryant said.
