This course builds students' managerial capabilities for a career in the public sector and related fields through the coverage of a range of topics relating to leadership, change management, the management of self, teams, and organisations. Theory is presented in a highly applied manner that highlights the importance of context in applying key concepts. Students are exposed to a wide variety of issues in the contemporary public sector workplaces and assessments will require the application of core concepts to their own workplace to maximise the relevance of the learning to each individual's unique situation.

Delivery of the course may be via either block delivery or intensive delivery and may be taught during semester breaks. Block delivery involves online delivery of material, coupled with blocks (days) of time on- campus - normally weekends - that are separated by a number of weeks. The material delivered via online mode will occur prior to the first block of teaching and between the blocks of face-to-face teaching: or Intensive delivery will occur over a number of consecutive days (normally five or six) of teaching. The student will be supported through appropriate online support such as pre-reading and an initial activity.
Students may be required to attend the Mount Lawley campus and/or the Joondalup campus to complete the degree.
