Graduate Certificate of Secondary Education (Science)

This course provides an opportunity for motivated and academically capable teachers to re-train in a learning area of great demand. An emphasis upon both curriculum content and best teaching practice in Western Australian secondary schools is a strong and consistent theme in across four pedagogy and content units. The science specialisation provides both a refresher and a consolidation of content skills for teachers who wish to re-train in the teaching of science up to and including Year 10. The course is supported by highly organised materials and flexible delivery for online units.

Admission requirements

  • Bachelor degree; or
  • Equivalent prior learning including at least five years appropriate professional experience

Course Specific Admission Requirements

All students are required to have a four-year teaching qualification. Alternatively students can have a Graduate Diploma of Education, with equivalents considered.
