Master of Nursing (Research)

This course prepares students to be independent researchers with the ability to develop and implement a research proposal relevant to nursing. The course is directed both at students with an interest in research and those planning a research career, preparing nurses to practice in the field of nursing research.

Admission requirements

Meet the published English language standards and:

  • For a 1 year Masters Degree - have completed a Level 8 course in the same discipline; or
  • For a 1.5 year Masters Degree - have completed a Level 7 course in the same discipline; or
  • For a 1.5 year Masters Degree - have completed a Level 8 course in a different discipline; or
  • For a 2 year Masters Degree - have completed a Level 7 course in a different discipline; or
  • Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years appropriate professional experience.

Course Specific Admission Requirements

All applicants are required to be a current Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and have a Nursing degree, with equivalents considered, and a minimum of two years post-registration nursing experience.

Students must attain an Academic IELTS with an overall band minimum score of 7.0 (no individual band less than 7.0) achieved within any conditions approved by AHPRA.
