Graduate Certificate in Broadcasting (Radio)

Effective from 01-JAN-2015 : Code W66

This course is designed principally for journalism, media and communications graduates. It may also attract graduates of other disciplines who wish to employ their specialist knowledge as radio broadcasters. Course content includes the range of journalistic, presentation, technical and people skills required by today's electronic media professionals.

Work Experience Requirement

Students are required to undertake industry work placement as part of the course.

Attendance requirements

Students must undertake work placement at hours/days required of the industry.

Admission requirements

  • Bachelor degree; or
  • Equivalent prior learning including at least five years appropriate professional experience

Course Specific Admission Requirements

All students are required to attend an interview. Students should contact the Student Information Office at educationandarts@ecu.edu.au, prior to applying to arrange an interview with the Course Coordinator. Additionally students must attend an audition, and provide a personal statement. This statement should be no more than 500 words.

Non standard timetable requirements

This course commences in Orientation Week and extends beyond Week 13. The course has non-standard contact hours and operates four days a week, from Tuesday to Friday.
