This major prepares students for future success in our media-driven environment. Students examine the influence and power of media and the forces that affect them. It prepares students to consider the political and social characteristics of contemporary culture and to engage with these issues in a meaningful way. It introduces students to a significant range of contemporary theoretical and critical approaches used to analyse media texts, media technologies, social media and question their position and the position of others in the world today. Students are trained to think critically and to communicate effectively.
