The major is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge to teach Years 7 to 12 Visual Arts Education, with an emphasis on visual literacy foundations. Emphasis is also placed upon collaborative teaching processes, whilst acknowledging the importance of individual creative practice.

Visual Arts Teacher
This major is designed for students wishing to become secondary visual arts teachers and allows graduates to also work in the K-6 setting as specialist teachers. Graduates will be eligible to seek employment in both government and non-government secondary schools.
Students are required to complete 10 Content units and 2 Curriculum units. Content units educate students in the subject area and the Curriculum units explain how to teach the subject area to others.
